All India IPSC Chess Tournament 2024 - 25
SRS had the esteemed opportunity of hosting this year's All India Indian Public Schools Conference Chess Tournament for Boys for the year 2024-2025. In 1993, during the 54th Annual Sessions of IPSC, our first Principal, Smt Mahalakshmi was elected as the Chairperson of the IPSC for her tenure between 1992 and 1994. Our primary goal is to offer an enriching experience to students, arbiters, coaches, the audience, and all participants during the chess tournament. The school is dedicated to ensuring the comfort of everyone and making the tournament a grand success. The All India Indian Public Schools' Conference Chess Tournament for Boys was scheduled for August 10 to August 12, 2024 at Sandur Residential School in Sandur.
The All India Indian Public Schools’ Conference Chess Tournament was held on 10,11 & 12 of August, 2024 at Sandur Residential School, Sandur. A total of 167 children from 17 schools including the hosting Sandur Residential School participated to exhibit their inner grandmasters.

Opening Ceremony
During the Inaugural ceremony, Chief Guest Shri T. R. Raghunandan, Non-Executive Director & Chairman of SMIORE, shared school experiences and discussed overcoming educational challenges. He emphasized the value of forming bonds, adaptability, and understanding the broader world. Mesmerized by Sandur Residential School's beauty and excellence, he praised its achievements and officially declared the tournament open. Director Shri Bahirji A. Ghorpade welcomed everyone, expressing pride in hosting the IPSC event for the third consecutive year. He highlighted chess's intellectual benefits and encouraged participants to embrace outcomes as steps toward personal development. A memento was presented to the Chief Guest in appreciation
Event Details
Upon arrival, participating schools underwent thorough verification at the reception, ensuring smooth commencement. Each team coach received a detailed folder with event schedules, emergency contacts, and participant information. Accommodation was well-prepared, featuring hot water and daily fumigation, with a dedicated medical team on-site. Security personnel ensured participant safety. Sattvic and diverse meals were served, with efficient transportation for timely event attendance. Events ran from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with breaks for meals and snacks. On August 12, 2024, participants, dressed in school uniforms, attended the closing ceremony, celebrating their achievements and new friendships.
Closing Ceremony
The All India IPSC Chess Tournament for Boys concluded on August 12, 2024, in the Diamond Jubilee Block. Chief Guest Shri Anand Sen, Independent Director, SMIORE, emphasized leadership and the significance of chess. Guest of Honour Smt Yashodhara S. Ghorpade, President of Shivapur Shikshana Samiti, highlighted chess's rich history and benefits. The Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, Delhi, claimed the Overall Championship. Awards and mementos were presented to individuals, teams, arbiters, and coaches. The event concluded with official photographs and a grand Principal’s dinner, marking the end of a successful tournament
