School Campus

Sandur Residential School is situated on a seventy-five-acre campus with over 1700 students amidst the scenic natural beauty surrounded by hills, lush green fauna and flora, with the rising sun softly beginning with it a flurry of morning activity.

English Lab

The English lab was introduced by M. Y. Ghorpade who envisioned that teaching English was an essential element for a bright future.

His presence always motivated the students from remote areas, he encouraged them to better their communication skills. It was with this vision that the English lab was set up.

Science Laboratory

Our well-equipped scientific labs provide a place for the students to test principles and theories in science. We have large laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. One often finds students working individually, in pairs and in small groups.

Sports

Sports are about those incredible moments where sheer human will and desire overcomes the odds. These are the moments we remember.

Day scholars and Boarders enjoy ample time in the play grounds spread over 25 acres. Variety of sport training are given to students such as football, Volleyball, Basketball, Cricket, Athletics, group games and Individual games.

Amphitheatre

Golden Jubilee Hall was built to commemorate 50 years of our school and was inaugurated by Dr. M.S. Swaminathan in the year 2009 and Diamond Jubilee Hall and block was built to commemorate the 60 years of the school in the year 2019.

Music and Dance

Indian music comprises of quwwali, folk music, ghazal, Hindustani and Carnatic Music etc.. It’s musical instruments include, sitar, sarod, sarangi, tanpura, veena, violin, tabla, mridangam, jal tarang, flute, shehnai etc.. 

Indian dance forms include, folk dance, Bharatanatyam, kathak, kathakali, manipuri, mohiniyattam, odissi, etc.

Swimming

Swimming is an excellent way to work your entire body and cardiovascular system. An hour of swimming burns almost as many calories as running, without all the impact on your bones and joints.

As swimming is a life skill, we teach our day-scholars and boarding students to learn swimming.

Dormitories

There are 11 spacious dorms with a courtyard, TT room, Guestroom and TV room separately keeping in mind the wants of the students accommodating 450 boarders, 3 for girls and 7 for boys, in addition to this there is are adjacent residence for each of House Mothers and House Masters.

The architecture of the dorms is homely but highly efficient from functional point of view.

Dining Hall

We have 2 dining halls, one for Boarders and the other for Day Scholars.

School-age children need healthy foods and nutritious snacks. In their growing years they usually eat 4 to 5 times a day. Many food habits, likes, and dislikes are set during this time. School-age children are often willing to eat a wider variety of foods.
